Dr Adam Louws made national news by taking a GP job in a tiny town — now he’s leaving

When GP Dr Adam Louws took a job in Julia Creek it made headlines from the ABC to the Daily Mail.
The Queensland town, 600km west of Townsville, had lacked a permanent GP for 10 years until Dr Louws accepted the $500,000 job two years ago.
But now he is leaving, heading back to Brisbane with his wife and four children.
“It’s a great town and the people are nice, but I feel like it’s time for us to move on,” he told AusDoc.
