Dr Charlie Teo’s ‘vacation-like’ hospital one step closer
A proposed private brain and spinal hospital, spearheaded by neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo, has moved a step closer with plans by a western Sydney council to sell a key property.
Blacktown City Council is supportive of the $800 million private hospital and medi-hotel which aims to attract medical tourists from overseas seeking treatment.
The council has unveiled plans to sell its administrative block to “pave the way” for the development of Dr Teo’s Blacktown Brain and Spinal Institute (BBSI).
The venture would be on the site of the council’s central administration block and includes a medical research facility, private hospital, medi-hotel, retail space and residential apartments.
