Dr Jereth Kok handed 12-month ban for his online posts about abortion doctors, homosexuality and gender dysphoria

The former GP, who calls himself ‘Dr Thoughtcrime’ on social media, was also banned from using the title ‘doctor’.

The GP who has spent seven years under emergency suspension following a series of online posts has been disqualified for a year and banned from calling himself a doctor.

A fundamentalist Christian, Dr Jereth Kok was originally found guilty of professional misconduct in July last year for his public comments on topics ranging from homosexuality and transgender identity to abortion and contraception.

This week, the tribunal imposed its sanctions — banning Dr Kok from reapplying for registration for 12 months saying that he lacked remorse and insight into his conduct.

He was accused of “denigrating” the LGBTIQ+ community by suggesting homosexuality was a medical disorder.
