Dr Joe Kosterich: ‘Why I speak to anti-vax extremists’

Dr Joe Kosterich says he is no anti-vaxxer — even if his views on the lockdowns are being circulated among a proliferation of fringe groups wanting to dismantle Australia’s public health response to the pandemic.
Last month, the Perth GP gave an online talk to the Health Rights Alliance – a group linked to the Anti-Vaccination Network – that has been protesting against what it claims is the looming threat of mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations.
His talk, a panel discussion with two other GPs, was then posted by Reclaim Democracy Now, the extremist group implicated in a string of illegal lockdown protests.
Dr Kosterich, a well-known figure in the medical media, made clear that the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines had been shown to be safe and that they were reducing infection and death rates.
