GPs should not see any major changes to their workload under the medical board’s new CPD regime because most are meeting the requirements already, Dr Karen Price says.

The pledge by the RACGP president comes amid debate over reforms that mean virtually every doctor will need to start writing professional development plans and complete at least 50 hours of CPD each year.

At least 25 hours will have to be spent measuring outcomes or reviewing their performance, with at least 12.5 hours spent on traditional educational activities.

These requirements will be a condition of registration from 2023.
