GP Dr Lisa Searle’s life is one of extremes — from providing medical care in war-torn countries to chaining herself to bulldozers in old-growth forests.

In fact, she had barely unpacked from her recent posting in Sudan before she headed back to her “frontline direct-action work” with the Bob Brown Foundation to slow logging in Tasmanian forests.
