Why hangover cures are giving doctors new headaches

The rise of medicinal cannabis and trendy ‘hangover cure’ vitamin infusions are making it harder for anti-doping doctors to draw the line between medical and recreational drug use and an intent to cheat.
This responsibility falls on Sports Integrity Australia (SIA), the regulator formerly known as ASADA, which has the job of implementing the World Anti-Doping Code in Australia.
Sports and exercise physician Dr Laura Lallenec is a medical advisor for SIA, as well as the chief medical officer for Netball Australia and the head doctor for the Melbourne Football Club.
