Eight GPs owed $165,000 from debt-ridden corporate

Eight locum GPs have been told by a debt-ridden medical corporate that they will only receive a third of the $165,000 they are owed in unpaid salaries, despite the company planning to set up another clinic.
I-Medical Australia registered as a business just 10 months ago, opening bulk-billing GP practices in WA in Kalgoorlie and the remote town of Norseman, the latter touted as a super clinic.
It brought in fly-in fly-out locums to staff the clinics but immediately ran into financial troubles with only a small number of patients booking appointments.
One of the locums owed money by I-Medical, Dr Ashley Sood, said she was shocked when she first arrived at the Norseman clinic in August last year.
