Humiliation and head injuries: these are some of the obstacles that GPs have overcome when taking the OSCE.

The clinical role-playing exam using actors has been one of the rites of passage faced by thousands of doctors on the pathway to RACGP fellowship.

Following last week’s announcement by the college that the assessment is being replaced after more than 25 years, Australian Doctor is asking you to share some of your memories of exam day.

Our clinical editor Dr Paul Muthiah says memories of his own OSCE still leave a bitter taste, more than a decade after he took it while gaining fellowship of the RACGP back in the UK.
