How good have the social media giants been at curbing misinformation on COVID-19 and vaccines?

Sites including Facebook, Twitter and TikTok have been in the firing line for allowing misinformation to spread, resulting in the Australian Government forcing them to publish reports on how much misinformation they have taken down.

TikTok, the video platform that has been downloaded two billion times in just two years, said it deleted 222 Australian videos that promoted conspiracy theories in six months.

These included that Scott Morrison’s very public COVID-19 vaccination was faked and those that suggested side effects from COVID-19 vaccination left half of all Navy personnel out of action.
