Fewer patients choosing GP practices for flu vax, official data show
Are GP practices losing their grip on flu vaccinations?
Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) data suggest maybe so, with the proportion of flu shots delivered in general practice falling almost 20% between 2020 and 2023.
The data covers a five-month period (1 March to 30 July) each year, although registering flu vaccinations only became mandatory from 2021 onwards.
However, it was the season after that when pharmacy flu vaccines spiked by 10%.
