Find ‘any willing arm’ for excess COVID-19 vaccines, GPs told

GPs are being urged to administer leftover doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine into “any willing arm” even if that means patients currently outside the eligibility criteria.
There’s a six-hour time limit once a vial of the mRNA vaccine has been diluted and GPs only have 60 minutes to administer a dose once it is in the syringe.
Health officials have offered no specific guidance on handling leftovers.
But the RACGP’s NSW/ACT chair Associate Professor Charlotte Hespe says there is a “moral imperative” to use them up.
