Former RACP president banned for 12 months after inappropriate touching of female doctors

In two cases the touching was for a sexual purpose, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal said.

A former president of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians who inappropriately touched female interns and registrars has been banned from applying for registration for 12 months.

Last year, Associate Professor Leslie Bolitho was found to have breached professional boundaries when he touched seven women on their backs, bottoms, shoulders or thighs between 2014 and 2018.

This week, he was told of the sanctions.

In handing down a 12-month ban, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal said in two cases the touching had been for a sexual purpose.
