A former president of the RACP has questioned the college’s decision to remove its company secretary who alleged she had been bullied and harassed by current president Professor Jennifer Martin.

An independent internal investigation substantiated a number of claims made by Kim Davis, finding that Professor Martin had engaged in “disrespectful and arguably bullying and harassing conduct” against her.

It went on to suggest that the president had breached various sections of the college’s code of conduct, requiring members to treat others with respect, and to not engage in behaviour that could bring the college into disrepute.

Earlier this month the college’s board voted to have Ms Davis stood down from her role, a role she had been in since 2019, stating the decision was not an “act of retaliation” but made to ensure good governance of the college.
