A rampaging rooster left a young woman with septic arthritis of the right knee after his peck caused an intracapsular lesion, doctors report.

Their 26-year-old patient presented to the ED with a painful, red, hot and swollen right knee.

On examination, she had a 5mm lesion on her right medial femoral condyle, which occurred when her rooster attacked and pecked her the previous day.

The patient reported she experienced immediate pain, redness and swelling.
