French GP, 98, has no plans for retirement

His patients and a love of medicine have kept France’s oldest working doctor practising as a GP at 98 years of age.
Based in the low-income southern suburbs of Paris, Dr Christian Chenay has even outlasted his own son, also a doctor, who retired at 67.
“I couldn’t possibly give up work,” Dr Chenay tells the Guardian. “How can I stop when there are only three doctors in this area for a population of 19,000?
“I keep going for my patients, particularly for the older ones, who I like to encourage. I love medicine.
