Full list of Dr Charlie Teo’s AHPRA conditions published

Dr Charlie Teo will have to practice under supervision until further notice and have his Medicare claims audited according to a string of conditions imposed on his medical registration under emergency powers.
The neurosurgeon, well-known for performing ‘last chance’ surgery on patients deemed inoperable by other doctors, is the subject of an investigation by the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.
Details of the complaints remain confidential, but following a hearing before the Medical Council of NSW last week, Dr Teo’s AHPRA registration has been changed.
It means that he cannot perform surgeries involving malignant intracranial tumours or brain stem tumours without written approval from an independent neurosurgeon who has been approved by the medical council and has at least 20 years’ experience.
