A mortified ICU specialist has shared how she mistakenly showed an ophthalmologist a close-up photo of a penis, while asking if the image was a possible outcome for a patient’s eye.

In a brave post on Twitter, Dr Rosie Baruah, from the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland, relived the awful moment she realised she “hadn’t looked closely enough” before showing the doctor the medical journal image while seeking his opinion.
