‘Get stuffed’: GPs sidelined in NT Health’s Facebook video on where patients should get care
GPs have lashed out at an NT Health video that excludes general practice from the recommended services for patients seeking non-emergency care.
Published last month, the NT Health Facebook reel features health workers being shown a series of diagnoses and raising one of three placards indicating where these patients should seek care.
The placards say, ‘Call 000’, ‘Urgent Care Clinic’ or ‘Pharmacy’.
For example, the people in the video hold up ‘Pharmacy’ for suspected UTIs, rashes or dermatitis and hold up ‘Urgent Care Clinic’ for broken arms and deep grazes.
