Give every Aussie a choice of COVID-19 vax: Immunisation Coalition

All Australian teens and adults, including the over-60s, should be given access to the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to help boost vaccination rates, the Immunisation Coalition says.
Coalition chair Dr Rod Pearce says, with the increased supply of mRNA vaccines and broadening of eligibility for Comirnaty already announced in several jurisdictions, there is no longer any reason to prevent people from having a choice of vaccine.
“We’re not saying we have a problem with the AstraZeneca vaccine, but if that’s a barrier from a patient’s point of view, and we have Pfizer vaccines available, it doesn’t have to be a reason for Australia to be slow in its rollout,” the Adelaide GP said.
“From a medical point of view, there’s no reason why people can’t have a choice.”
