Government apologises to journalists for false chemo claims… oncologists still waiting

The NSW Government has apologised to the media for falsely declaring that 468 chemotherapy sessions had been cancelled as a result of the strike by public hospital doctors.
Last week, some 5000 doctors and staff from 32 hospitals across the state walked off the job.
In an increasingly bitter dispute, the health minister’s office briefed the media telling them that 486 chemotherapy appointments had been cancelled as a result.
The numbers were widely reported over the next two days and were repeated by Premier Chris Minns.
