The focus on initial assessments at a government-funded specialist ADHD service risks some young patients falling through the cracks, GPs warn.
The Tasmanian Government launched the service for children and young patients in southern Tasmania last April to address the growing demand for ADHD treatment, then expanded it statewide.
But local GP Dr Tim Jones says the service is leaving gaps in care for more complex patients and for children who need ongoing treatment reviews, because it only offers assessments.
