Govt releases more case studies on the riches GPs will enjoy with a return to universal bulk-billing
The Federal Government has drawn up three more case studies allegedly showing the dramatic increases in revenue for small, medium and large practices if they universally bulk-bill.
From November, GPs will be offered tripled bulk-billing incentives for non-concessional patients and a slice of a 12.5% loading payment in return for bulk-billing everyone who walks through the door.
Government ministers claim the reforms will mean some 4800 practices will be bulk-billing all patients by 2030.
In new modelling, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing suggests that large bulk-billing practices and their GPs will be more than $300,000 better off after ditching co-pays.
