Govt’s post-vax stickers and badges came too late, say GP staff

NSW immunisation nurse, Rhonda Neil, says the 'hard yards' on the COVID-19 vax rollout had already been done by the time the federal Department of Health packs arrived

GPs may be wondering what to do with leftover Federal Government packs designed to help boost vaccination numbers with a poster, bandaids and stickers.

Packs were sent to almost 9000 COVID-19 vaccination clinics, including GPs, pharmacies and commonwealth clinics last month.

The assortment of badges, bandaids, and stickers were for patients to wear after their vaccination to “help promote the importance of vaccination with friends, family and their community”, according to a spokesperson for the federal Department of Health.

When the packs were being sent out in November, GPs and other vaccination providers had already delivered at least one dose to 90% of eligible Australians.
