GP accused of choking partner allowed to continue treating patients while awaiting trial

A GP accused of attempting to strangle his wife has successfully overturned emergency conditions on his practice which restricted him to diagnosing and treating skin cancer patients.
The 46-year-old had been originally called before the Queensland Health Ombudsman after being charged by police last year with two alleged offences involving the “choking, suffocation or strangulation in a domestic setting”.
The alleged events were said to have occurred during an evening at his home in March 2020.
The GP, who separated from his wife two years later, strenuously denied the charges.
