A GP who relied on ‘muscle testing’ to incorrectly diagnose patients with Lyme disease and Q fever over a 10-year period has been banned from practising until 2028.

Melbourne-based Dr Geoffrey Kemp, who gave an undertaking not to practise back in 2020, recommended multiple antibiotics, antimalarials, homeopathic remedies and ‘colour therapy’ to his patients.

One patient said they paid $2000 a month for therapeutics.

Other patients described how, during “very long” treatment sessions, Dr Kemp recited the Bible and initiated discussions about demonic possession, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal heard.
