GP booking site HotDoc sold to investment firm for estimated $250 million

Dr Ben Hurst will stay on as CEO.

A GP booking site used by 23,000 doctors has been sold to an Australian investment firm, 13 years after it was founded by a psychiatry registrar.

HotDoc, founded by Dr Ben Hurst, was sold in February for what the Australian Financial Review estimated was $250-$300 million. The company did not disclose a figure.

Dr Hurst will remain HotDoc CEO.

“They do not teach you in entrepreneur school that it can take 13 years from go to whoa,” Dr Hurst told AusDoc after the sale went through.
