GP builds AI that suggests the Medicare items that boost billings

A GP has built an AI scribe that suggests Medicare items for GPs to claim in real time as it drafts medical notes based on consultation audio.
If a consultation narrows to asthma management, for example, the scribe — called MBSPro — highlights items linked to asthma, such as spirometry or care planning.
“Then, say the patient needs to get their vaccines updated … a simple consult for a puffer turns into possibly $400 in billings,” MBSPro founder Dr Casey Going told AusDoc.
However, he insisted MBSPro was not just about GPs making money.
