GP calls for COVID-19 vax super clinics

A Melbourne GP wants to set up vaccination super centres in venues such as sporting halls to push up immunisation rates in some of nation’s hardest hit COVID-19 areas.
Dr Joe Garra is from Werribee, a western Melbourne suburb located in one of Australia’s pandemic hot spots.
The area, with a population of 290,000, has contributed 8% of the country’s total 29,000 coronavirus cases, and was home to outbreaks at Cedar Meats, a religious school and aged care facilities.
Dr Garra’s proposes to set up mass vaccination centres to speed up and streamline the process, while minimising disruption to GP clinics.
