A GP ordered to stand trial for manslaughter in relation to a homebirth where the mother died did not tell paramedics she was a doctor, a court has heard.

Dr Robyn James will face a Queensland Supreme Court jury over the death of Vicki Butler after her homebirth on 27 December 2017, following a committal hearing at Ipswich Magistrates Court last week.

Among the witnesses at the hearing was paramedic Ivana Dragic, who told the court that she saw Dr James in the bathroom performing ineffective CPR on Ms Butler when she arrived with her paramedic partner at about 6.50am.
