A regional GP is in the spotlight, after police were called to move on crowds of people who were allegedly waiting for COVID-19 vaccine exemptions.

Victoria Police has confirmed it was called to the western Victoria clinic, after receiving reports of about 100 people gathering outside the clinic for vaccination exemptions.

Photos provided to media outlets showed cars lined along the road and queues outside the practice.

While the crowd was dispersed without incident, a Victoria Police spokesperson said they were investigating if any of the people had breached COVID-19 restrictions, as travel from Melbourne to regional Victoria was banned under the Chief Health Officer’s directions.
