GP corporate boss warns of ‘general practice morale crisis’

General practice faces a fresh recruitment crisis as medical graduates remain wary of the pay and conditions in the specialty, IMGs look to return to their homelands post pandemic and working doctors reduce their hours, the boss of Australia’s largest GP corporate warns.

Dr Ged Foley, the CEO of IPN, says political attention needs refocus urgently on the “underlying ailments” afflicting general practice, ailments he fears are leading to a “crisis of morale” among GPs.
