A GP offering $40 email consultations to prescribe nicotine vapes has defended her telehealth website, arguing that the alternative is more deaths from smoking.

Melbourne GP Dr Carolyn Beaumont ‘sees’ about 15 patients a day through her MedicalNicotine website.

She says she has amassed 3000 regular patients over four years.

And she says patient numbers are rising due to the Federal Government’s vaping ban, which has put GPs on the front line of vaping by making all vape products prescription-only.
