GP who billed $249 a day loses court battle after being fired for aggressive reaction to performance concerns
A GP fired after reacting aggressively to his practice raising performance concerns, including that he was billing just $249 a day, has lost his breach of contract case.
The GP had started at the Perth practice, owned by a GP and her husband, in 2023 after signing an AHPRA-approved supervised IMG practice plan.
He had agreed to work 40 hours per week with his supervisor onsite 80% of the time, the Federal Court of Australia heard.
Less than two weeks in, the practice sent him a letter raising performance concerns.
