GP hoarder allowed to return to practice after lengthy suspension

A GP with a hoarding disorder who let dogs roam through her consulting room and stored prescription medications in her carport has been reprimanded by a tribunal.

The Melbourne GP has not practised since late 2016, when the Medical Board of Australia suspended her registration under emergency powers.

Following a complaint about the state of her home-based clinic, police and AHPRA investigators executed a search warrant and found dogs wandering into consultation and treatment rooms.

There was no dedicated vaccine storage fridge in the house, while schedule 4 medications were found in an open-sided carport.
