GP in fight for deceased patient’s $30m estate suffers legal blow over lost letter

A GP who has denied grooming an elderly patient in order to inherit his $30-million estate has failed to convince a judge that a long-forgotten letter from the patient proves he is legally entitled to the money.
The Salvation Army, one of the main beneficiaries under an earlier will, claims Dr Peter Alexakis ‘groomed’ Raymond McClure over the four years he treated him.
It’s alleged that following repeated hospital bedside visits in the months before he died in 2017, Dr Alexakis introduced the 85-year-old to his own solicitor, who then drafted a new will leaving the GP 65% of his estate.
The same solicitor drafted a second will just weeks later, leaving the Sydney GP 90% of the property tycoon’s estate.
