GP prescribing for ADHD — what are the rules across Australia now?
ADHD reforms are happening in most states and territories.
In 2024, the Federal Government backed nationally consistent prescribing rules for ADHD, a key recommendation from a 2023 Senate inquiry report.
Since then, most states and territories have pressed ahead with their own reforms, which have generally given GPs more power to prescribe for and diagnose the condition.
