Aussie GP sues medical college over years wasted on ‘doomed’ application to practice in Canada

A Melbourne GP has launched legal action after he wasted years on an application to work in Vancouver, Canada that, unbeknown to him, was always doomed to fail.
Dr Brian Nathan is suing the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and a recruitment service called HealthMatch.
He claims both bodies, which work closely together, should have known from the very beginning that his application for registration would fail because the RACGP practice eligible pathway he took to become a GP in Australia back in 2003, was not recognised.
His lawsuit became public after the Supreme Court of British Columbia dismissed legal moves for his legal action to be thrown out.
