GP trainee deals with gunshot wound, snakebite and poisoning all in one day

In just one day, GP registrar Dr Ben Ryall managed a gunshot wound, a quadbike rollover, a snakebite and a hand shattered by an auger — all on the one farm.
Oh, and a poisoning from a chemical spill.
Fortunately for Dr Ryall — who is in his first term of GP training — the accidents were all staged as part of a simulation run by NSW training provider GP Synergy in Dubbo last week.
The training provider had help from the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) South-Eastern Section, which coordinated the ‘accidents’ and actors playing the patients for the 40 registrars.
