GP training revival: RACGP declares every training post will be filled in 2025

More than 1500 doctors will start GP training in 2025, with no training posts left empty for the first time since 2017, the RACGP says.
It was just two years ago that the Australian GP Training (AGPT) program hit a nadir, with 252 vacant training positions.
A partial recovery last year saw all metropolitan training places filled but more than 100 rural training posts remain empty.
On Wednesday, the RACGP said that offers were accepted for 1504 AGPT places for 2025.
