Dr Tim Read says he has been reflecting on the economics of healthcare while receiving expensive cancer treatment.
At $10,780.47 per 80mg, with 3mg/kg needed every three weeks, ipilimumab is not cheap.
It is something that has stuck with GP Dr Tim Read during immunotherapy to treat metastatic melanoma.
The Victorian Greens MP was diagnosed in October 2025, six years after what he thought had been successful melanoma treatment.
It seemed unlikely he would survive until the November 2026 election.
