GP who testified against Erin Patterson closes his practice

Dr Chris Webster says the fallout from the trial and financial issues have forced the closure of Leongatha Healthcare.

The GP who alerted police to his suspicions over triple murderer Erin Patterson says financial turmoil is forcing him to close his large country practice.

The past two years have been turbulent times for Dr Chris Webster.

A key witness in the mushroom killer case, he ended up in hot water with the Medical Board of Australia over his comments to the media, where he described Paterson as a “crazy bitch” and a “disturbed sociopathic nutbag”.

He closed Leongatha Healthcare on Friday afternoon, saying the decision was “financially necessary”.
