A GP who inherited the bulk of his patient’s $30 million estate has won the latest legal challenge over the fortune, launched by the Salvation Army and other beneficiaries.

Last year, the Supreme Court of NSW ruled Dr Peter Alexakis was entitled to the inheritance, after rejecting allegations by the charity and the other beneficiaries that he unduly influenced Raymond McClure, 84, to leave him his estate.

Mr McClure, who made his millions in the property market in California, in the US, was estranged from his brother and had no immediate family when he died in November 2017 from colorectal cancer.

His final will, prepared in July the same year, left Dr Alexakis his $3 million Sydney home and 90% of his residuary estate.
