‘GPs are incredibly happy’: Professor Brendan Murphy defends vax rollout

Australia’s top health bureaucrat has denied the COVID-19 vaccine rollout is a “dog’s breakfast”, saying GPs are happy with the support they are getting from the Federal Government.
Professor Brendan Murphy was being grilled on the ABC’s 7:30 programme on Tuesday night amid fears that the current vaccination rates are too low to ensure every adult Australian will receive their first dose by October — as the government has pledged.
Presenter Leigh Sales told him there should be “a sense of urgency” in the rollout given states were still going into lockdown.
“How can anybody objectively view [it] as anything other than a dog’s breakfast?” she asked.
