GPs to be offered tailored version of COVID-19 vaccine training after backlash

GPs will get their own version of the mandatory training course for administering COVID-19 vaccines, after the Federal Government’s online course was labelled a “time sink” by the RACGP.
Unveiled last week, the current module was criticised by many doctors after it emerged it had been developed by the Australian College of Nursing and took around three hours to complete.
But with thousands of GPs expected to be involved in vaccinating millions of patients over the next eight months, college president Dr Karen Price has revealed the government is developing a module specific to GPs.
“I’m pleased to say that the Department of Health has taken our feedback on board,” she said.
