GPs demand answers from RACGP and ACRRM over training takeover

There are fears the 'dearth of detail' might prevent some doctors from applying for the program

There are fears junior doctors are already turning their backs on general practice because there is so little public information about what is happening to the Australian General Practice Training Program.

GP supervisors and registrars say they are alarmed by the “dearth of detail” on the transition of the program to ACRRM and the RACGP next year.

In an open letter to the Federal Government and the colleges, they have stressed that applications for the revamped program are expected to open in less than 12 months time.

They said lack of information risks destabilisng the specialty.
