GPs find two more cases of monkeypox

One case is believed to have no connection with overseas travel, health authorities say

Australia has recorded two more cases of monkeypox, bringing the country’s total to four.

Both cases are men in their 50s who recently returned home to Sydney: one had been visiting Queensland with no reported links to overseas travel and the other had returned from Europe.

They both presented to their GPs after developing a mild illness several days after their travels.

Queensland Minister for Health Yvette D’Ath said the Queensland visitor had spent time in the Whitsundays, according to The Age.
