GPs offered cash incentives to run school vaccination clinics

The RACGP has welcomed new funding for GPs to establish children’s COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Victorian public schools, but warns doctors are at breaking point over the rollout of the program.
President Dr Karen Price says uptake of the grants, worth up to $11,500 each, will depend on whether exhausted GPs have the capacity to take part as the virus continues to furlough primary care workers.
She has also called on the Federal Government to address the vaccine distribution issues besetting the vaccination program rollout for children.
The Victorian Government’s $4 million primary care vaccinations in schools program will fund GPs and community pharmacists to set up 30 pop-up clinics across the state.
