GPs will soon have the option of prescribing two new oral antivirals for patients with COVID-19 following TGA approval, Minister for Health Greg Hunt has confirmed.

The drugs, nirmatrelvir-ritonavir (Paxlovid) and molnupiravir (Lagevrio) are indicated for patients with COVID-19 in the community who are at increased risk of requiring hospitalisation.
