GPs still waiting for kids’ COVID-19 vax doses

A GP says he has been forced to cancel all bookings for child COVID-19 vaccines after the promised delivery of doses failed to show up.
More than two million children aged 5-11 became eligible for vaccination this morning, with the Federal Government pledging that all of them will get a first dose before school restarts at the end of January.
Dr Shane Woods, a GP in Sydney, said his practice was offered an allocation of 100 vaccines despite asking for 300 due to their large paediatric patient base.
But he told Australian Doctor he was forced to cancel all his practice’s child COVID-19 vaccine appointments because the vaccines he was promised would arrive on Thursday have yet to turn up.
